I should say, I am already late of owning my very first bike for this passion. Past 30 yet still i have this unwavering passion of beauties of the bikes in me encompassing all of different magical outcome the two-wheeled kingdom has to put forward.
Not until one expatraite told that he is finally leaving for good and wanted to return his bike to the bike showroom, we had agreed to sell his bike to me at a friendly price. I have waited for 3 days until he got all his departure papers in hand before he gave the bike to me. On the very last day before his take off, we had arrange the registration and insurance transferred in my name and that is when I had able to have my very first bike - the HONDA CB UNICORN.
A few weeks before, I saw an advert selling bike at a very affordable price. Again, I got noticed that the same bike is advertised day by day with the price lowered and lowered everytime a new advert is posted. Seems no one is interested. Perhaps it is, entirely no one in Qatar would likely to buy such a bike since summer is approaching. A scorching temperature of above 35-45 degrees centrigrade is such a torture for any rider. Besides, accidents of cages is already alarming that it became a normal sights in and around highways everyday, thus riding a bike in most of Qatar roads are likely suicidal.
But at the very last moment before I approach the owner, I had made up my mind that if I woudn't do, I won't fulfill my passion - that is, riding and calling it my own. Now I have this cute red toy in the garage.
Back in my home countryland, memories still lingers on me about the old faithful bike my father has- Honda CG125. Even when i was a kid, I was get used to run a Honda. That was my father's first bike and seemingly my paired twin. We were born on the same year. We were raised together and when the time I am able enough to take care of her(Honda CG125) too, she was then became my best childhood friend, my passion, my love, my sweet and my excitement. In my teenage years we got always a good times together. In the late seventies till eighties, Honda was one a hero in our town. Even until today, Honda flagships still waves faithfully to all loyal Honda owners in all corners of the world.
One factor that push my interest of buying such bike is that because its Honda. Perhaps because we have known in each other since 3 decades ago. I knew how to make her happy. She also knew why i was enjoyed of my time with her. I cannot really explained how, perhaps because i was longing of my long lost childhood friend. Or am I really dreaming to live back once again with the sweetheart of my life? hmmmmnnn. :)
Even my close collegues told me that its crazy to ride a bike in
Qatar. It actually echoes to me everytime i got to think of it before i had to sleep, for what purpose? would you dare to put your life in peril out of the lifethreatening dangers out in the roads? cages rolled over, turned upside down, got smashed, tore off and squeezed like aluminum canned coke, so what more is bike like then? But pondering out those circumstances, that won't hinder me. Just for the love and passion, i simply love that bike. Just today, i have claimed back the love of my life.
Although both old and the new bike descend from the same brand are technically different bikes, those hearts that once first get in love with Honda will always says --- "FIRST LOVE NEVER DIES."
